Mount Harriet, renamed Mount Manipur, is accessible by road and ferry from Port Blair. It was the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during the British Raj. It is the highest peak in the South Andamans (365 m) and has a commanding view of nearby islands and the sea.
Mount Harriet is covered with verdant forest and is a sanctuary. The natural flora and fauna, an abundance of bird life make this a nature lover’s paradise. With all its picturesque advantage, this is a must- see venue. There is also a trekking path to Mount Harriet from North Bay.
